......is as follows.

First Sisters of Mercy track to be ready looks like being 1959, I hope that'll be done in the next few weeks.

'Lady Marmalade' is well on the way to completion.

I've got four or five other disco/70s tracks that I've had a play around with, but no major progress on them as yet. :)

I dunno what this is going to do to our reputation, but here is the video of us playing No Good Advice by Girls Aloud on our crappiest plastic recorders.

It's not like 2/3 of us were tipsy or anything, nooooo.

Fabuloso! :D

So I posted this to my own journal by mistake. WOOPS!

OK, I believe I can confirm that we will be having a session on January 14th.

I can't do 30th now, cos I'm thick and organised something else.

Are people still able to do 29th?

Merry Christmas
I'll take this opportunity to wish you all a Merry Christmas, and a happy New Year that's full of recorders, cake and mad arrangements of pop and goth classics for recorder ensemble :D

Hopefully, I'll see you all on the 30th!

Next session
1) Who's around anytime between Xmas and New Year and wants to play? Suggest dates and times below please.

2) Can people do January 14th? I can't do 7th, but that doesn't stop everyone else doing it anyway!

Once again, thank you Toni for a great afternoon/evening's entertainment jamming on recorders (and other instruments!) - a shame you couldn't make it purplegril. :( The red wine was rather special too!

Thinking of 2007 - I can come for more recorder and more cake on any Sunday in January or February except January 21st - we'll have to plan some more meets sometime. :)

BTW did you get your bass recorder Ellie? :)
9:38 pm
So, today I went to the Greenwich Early Music Festival to get horny over recorder-porn culturally enrich myself (and bumped into Barry as soon as I got there - did you find any recorders that you liked Barry?)

I was v. good and didn't buy any more instruments, but I did buy sheet music, including a couple of pieces for Recorders & Cake to play. I hope you haven't already got these Ellie!:

* The Recorder Consort 1 (47 pieces for recorder consort) by Steven Rosenberg - lots of little tunes arranged for various combinations of recorders

* Country Fairs Suite arranged for recorder quartet (SSAT) by Christopher Ball - five traditional tunes including Scarborough Fair, which I know is a cliche but I have always been fond of

I might well be going back tomorrow, and if I do then this list is sure to grow!!!

8:33 am

I've had a listen to the Sisters of Mercy CD, and I think there's a couple of tracks there that are certainly arrangeable for recorders! :)

Hopefully I'll get one done for early next year (think it'll be pushing it a bit to get it done by the next time I see you all on the 17th Dec). Squiddity : can you let me know what you can play recorder wise, and I'll arrange you a part you'll be happy playing. :)

Won't be able to come on 3/12, sorry. 17/12 would be OK for me, if that's OK with everyone else. :)

2pm Sunday, 3rd December

At Toni's house...ask her where it is, I'm not telling ;)

I have obtained myself one bass recorder today from ebay...so now I just have to learn how to play it (and hope it actually arrives)
